Day 0 in Japan
It has been a 29-hour long day. We began by picking up our friends at 2AM and driving to Nashville International Airport, and ended in a tiny AirBnB in the largest city in the world. As travel days in a new land go, all is well, in the sense that the flights arrived and departed on time, we made it through customs without a hitch, and we navigated the train system from Haneda International Airport to our accomodations without getting totally lost.
In a more down-to-earth sense, we are little more than half-functional zombies. A fourteen-hour international flight is no joke on a good day, and ours was more turbulent than smooth and didn’t quite have what you might describe as adequate climate control. It was hot, stuffy, and just plain uncomfortable.
And yet here we are, in JAPAN.
I didn’t take very many photos today, by nature of the fact that 16 hours of it was spent in a metal tube 38,000ft in the air. So here’s the ones I did snap, in chronological order beginning at 1AM and wrapping up with sashimi rice bowls for dinner.
